Frantz August Bash
My mother and I went to the Frantz Art Glass August Bash on Saturday. It was a blast. Free t-shirts, free tote bags, and a truly awesome free lunch.
It got us all fired up to lampwork again, so we bought a few rods of glass from the $2 table (including some cool CIM colors I’d have never bought online), some bead release, and came home wishing we could afford an annealing kiln.
And lo and behold, my dad found one for $85 on Craigslist that very night. Unbelievable. It’s an Arrow Springs AF-99 in great condition. The owner was moving and just got herself a serious Paragon, so we were able to pick up her old kiln for a steal. We fired it up, and it worked perfectly the first time. So we’re back in the lampworking game.
Just another hobby to add to the growing list. But this one involves copious amounts of fire. Mwahahaha.
